TAX REBATE 2025
Morocco offers a 30% tax rebate for international film productions that spend at least $987,500 and film for a minimum of 18 days in the country, including set construction. However, accessing this incentive can be challenging. While the rebate itself is straightforward, there is no clear cap per project, the program operates under a fixed annual budget—making availability uncertain—and it requires a 5% upfront deposit, refundable only if strict spending conditions are met. Additionally, only 90% of a production’s total budget can count as qualifying spend in Morocco. Though Morocco’s tax incentive is appealing, there are more attractive alternatives. For example, Thailand not only offers a higher rebate but also includes bonus incentives for meeting certain criteria, along with clear guidelines on budget caps and deadlines.
